With the first products of Crown Zenith set to be released this Friday, January 20th, we thought we would talk about some useful information and dates to keep handy. Crown Zenith is the last set of the Sword & Shield era of the Pokémon TCG, but it is not considered a main-line set like Lost Origin and Silver Tempest, but a special set like Shining Fates, Champion's Path, and Celebrations. Since it is considered a special set, Crown Zenith will not have booster boxes available for sale, while some websites will make sets of 36 x Crown Zenith booster packs to replicate a booster box, do not be confused when they arrive separate and not in a sealed box. These booster packs will have been taken from various items from the Crown Zenith set such as Elite Trainer Boxes or collection sets. However, you shouldn't need to worry about the individual packs being weighed, since the varying weight of code cards makes it very hard to get an accurate weight on the other cards including in each pack.

Now onto the cards actually in Crown Zenith. There are 230 total different cards in the Crown Zenith set, there are 159 cards in the main set, a single secret rare, and 70 Galarian Gallery cards. The Galarian Gallery is replacing the Trainer Gallery for this set, and includes cards with special illustrations. Some coming from the recent Japanese Pokémon TCG set - VSTAR Universe. And let me tell you, some of these cards from the Galarian Gallery are absolutely stunning. Our favorite are the gold secret rares of Giratina, Arceus, and Origin Forme Palkia/Dialga, which come together to make a beautiful scene. 

There are a few different release dates to watch out for as Crown Zenith has a very extended release period, going all the way into May 5th, 2023. And I would also warn people not to get sucked into any FOMO, due to this extended release, there will be plenty of products released over a long time period for everyone to be able to get their fair share. Here is the release date schedule, with a short description of what each product includes:

- Crown Zenith Regieleki V/Regidrago V Collection Boxes (January 20th, 2023): Includes four Crown Zenith booster packs, a jumbo V promo card and normal size V promo card of the respective collection box Pokémon, and a non-V card of the opposite Pokémon depending on what set you purchase. (For example, if you purchase the Regidrago V Collection Box, you will receive a Regidrago V promo card, Regidrago V Jumbo promo card, and a Non-V card of Regieleki.)

- Crown Zenith Elite Trainer Box (January 20th, 2023): Includes 10 Crown Zenith booster packs, a special art Lucario VSTAR card, 65 card sleeves featuring Lucario, 45 Pokémon TCG energy cards, a player's guide to the Crown Zenith expansion, 6 damage-counter dice, 1 competition-legal coin-flip die, 2 acrylic condition marker, 1 acrylic VSTAR marker, a collector's box to hold everything, with 4 dividers to keep it organized, and a code for the Pokémon TCG Live.   

- Crown Zenith Mini Tins (February 17th, 2023): Include 2 Crown Zenith booster packs and a sticker sheet.

- Crown Zenith Pikachu VMAX Special Collection (February 17th, 2023): Includes 5 Crown Zenith booster packs, one etched promo card and one jumbo promo card featuring Pikachu VMAX and one foil promo card featuring Pikachu V.

- Crown Zenith Tins (March 17th, 2023): Includes 5 Crown Zenith booster packs and one full art promo card featuring Galarian Articuno, Galarian Zapdos, or Galarian Moltres.

- Crown Zenith Rillaboom/Inteleon/Cinderace Pin Collections (April 14th, 2023): Includes 3 Crown Zenith booster packs, one promo card featuring Rillaboom/Cinderace/Inteleon, and one corresponding pin.

- Crown Zenith Morpeko V-UNION Premium Playmat Collection (April 14th, 2023): Includes 5 Crown Zenith booster packs, four Morpeko V-UNION cards, one Professor Burnet card, one playmat and one jumbo card featuring Morpeko V-UNION.

- Crown Zenith Shiny Zacian/Shiny Zamazenta Premium Figure Collection (May 5th, 2023): Includes 11 Crown Zenith booster packs, one etched promo card featuring either Shiny Zacian V or Shiny Zamazenta V, one corresponding Shiny figure and a Shiny pin, and one set of card sleeves.
